Souvenir Paint By Number is truly the brainchild of my wife, Christy Sauers. Every time we travel, Christy finds a personal and meaningful keepsake—something that says, “We were here.” She loves to collect patches for the canvas travel bag, small original art, and Christmas ornaments. Our Christmas tree has become a map of moments, each trinket telling its own story. Truth be told, I love it.
The idea for Souvenir Paint By Number was born during a stop along Route 66 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We were visiting one of those classic vintage converted gas stations with the quirky roadside attractions, and there was Stella Atom, the larger-than-life space cowgirl. One of our daughters is named Stella, so we knew this was the place to grab something. It was full of character but filled with large, expensive artwork or generic, mass-produced souvenirs. There was nothing personal—nothing you could really make your own.
That’s when it clicked.
Christy said, “What if instead of buying something, you create your own memory?” A simple, nostalgic paint-by-number kit uniquely tied to a place. The joy of the destination becomes an experience you can take home, relive, and share.
She immediately began researching how to bring it to life—sketching ideas, testing formats. She is a creative engine, and this project reflects her passion for travel, authenticity, and meaningful mementos for our family.
For us, this business isn’t just about selling products. It’s about celebrating places and the personal stories we attach to them. Every design is a window back into a trip, a moment, a memory. It’s not about boasting where we’ve been. It’s about being inspired by where we’ve been—and helping others feel the same.
And yes, this definitely gives us a reason to travel… maybe just a little more.
At Souvenir Paint by Numbers, we transform your cherished memories into paintable art. Whether it’s a vacation snapshot, a pet portrait, or a special moment frozen in time, our kits let anyone—from beginners to seasoned artists—create beautiful, personalized keepsakes. Painting isn’t just a hobby; it’s your story, one brushstroke at a time.
